Norton Antivirus is compatible with XP. Symantec, who makes Norton, wouldn't place itself out of its most lucrative market - making antivirus software for desktop PCs using Windows!

NAV has gotten a bit of a reputation for bogging down computers, though. It may not be regarded as the best product of its kind by experienced computer users, but it is the most recognized antivirus software around and it has the lion's share of the market.

There are so many good choices for antivirus software out there. I use AWIL's avast! antivirus pro. The free home edition is just as powerful, but you don't get the second user interface. Check out download.com for the stellar user reviews of this product. Once you've gotten used to avast, you'll probably stay with it for good.

it lags it but is compatible just make sure you have 512mb or more of ram in ure pc.

It is a very good program but if you dont want it to lag your computer you just turn auto protect or auto scan off and when you want to do a virus scan start it manually, When you have auto protect on it scans your computer when its idle and of course its going to lag your computer as it has a few processes running

It is compatible, it just takes up alot of your systems resources , not to mention you have to pay for renewal every year and what not. I would try Mcafee or something free like avast
