I'm in my twenties, get enough sleep, and I 've seemed to always had some annoying darkness around the eyes that's likely hereditary. I'm wanting a permanent fix for this if possible; however, I don't know if plastic surgery could correct it.

It depends what is causing the darkness. If's it because of the skin pigment darkening, then bleaching creams containing hydroquinone may help. You can obtain this OTC in concentration of up to 2% or by prescription for 4% concentrations. Chemical peels and lasers can also remove dark pigmentation caused by excess melanin in the skin.

If the darkness is caused by the blood vessels showing through, because the skin is thin, then there isn't anything that can totally solve the problem. Using good skin care, getting lots of sleep, not smoking or drinking heavily and staying out of the sun will all help. Some doctors state that use of certain lasers can help reduce dark circles caused by blood vessels showing through, but there is no guarantee that this will work.

Good luck : )

I don't know, but if you find out lemme know. It looks like I don't sleep- ever. I was thinking that if they can tatoo, then they should be able to tatoo a permanent lighter pigment around the effected area.
