Look at some of the comments on here. People are pretty brutal on some questions.

In person, well, Yahoo! would probably censor every word.

This was some 25 years ago, but it was so mean I still remember it clearly. I lived in San Francisco at the time, and it took place on Polk Street at the intersection with California, I believe. (You see, I really do remember.) I was just waiting to cross the street, totally minding my own business, when an old lady standing next to me suddenly says to me, "You should lose some weight!"

Well, of course this was something I knew to be true, but it was unbearably painful to have someone think it so significant that it was acceptable for a total stranger to make such a comment. I mean, like I was a public eyesore that needed to be abated!

I never forgot it.

When I was younger, I worked at this place that had people at the door checking for membership cards and receipts of items purchased. I was put in that place while the usual person was on break. A man and woman came up, I checked their receipt and the man said "when are you due?" (I had a bit of weight on me at the time). I replied "I'm not pregnant!" He came back with "Damn baby, you need to lose some weight!" I was shocked for a second, but ran out the door and told him to fuc* off. I didn't care if it got me fired or not (it didn't). Jerk.

I was looking at a cover of a magazine with Nicole Ritchie and her thinness on the cover and an older(60's) man leans over my shoulder and says, OH, don't you wish you looked like that??!!

I was completely shocked. .

I was 11 and in the womens bathroom, waiting for my mom to finish. A lady came up to me and said, "What are you doing in here?" I said, "Waiting for my mom." She told me to leave the bathroom and wait outside, that it was inappropriate for a little boy to be in the ladies room....

I'm a girl.

The worst part is, I said okay and waited outside.

When I was a little kid I made the mistake of telling some of the neighbor kids that I was adopted; afterwards some boys I didn't know teased me and said they were't my REAL parents because I was adopted; I told my mom and she told me to tell them that I was special because I was "picked"; their parents got stuck with them...lol...

"What other bus could this be?"

I hate that bus driver, I was asking and making sure that I got on the correct bus because I was in a rush and that's what he said to me. I can still remember this extremely disturbing sentence.
