I am looking into the cost of adopting my step-daughter from her potentially unwilling biological mother. Mom has nothing to do with her, however, and it has been suggested to me that first my husband and I need to begin with an Involuntary termination of parental rights and if that is uncontested or the biological mom doesn't' show up or fight back that we can then turn around and I can begin proceedings to adopt my step daughter. Does this sound correct? Any ideas on cost of doing this? Thanks, Everyone!

What are grounds to terminate parental rights in Florida? Do you have a site where I can get more information? Thanks!

Failure to maintain contact and/or provide support are not grounds to terminate parental rights in Florida.
