Conservatives... a lot of hate tonight?

Question

I read so many conservative questions and it's all just hate, no facts, no reason... only "liberals are the scum of the earth and love terrorists..." on and on...

what is the point of doing this over and over with no facts or reasons for even what you believe?

NONE OF YOU EVEN DEFINE A LIBERAL... and you all have different ideas of what a liberal is...

I mean... it seems like the hate questions on the liberal side get a few responses... but not much... and it seems to often be about bush... a REAL PERSON... with REAL BELIEFS... and some of his ideas aren't the greatest and may need discussion...

but a hate question on the conservative side is just like 20 answers of pure hate in like 5 mins with no facts or logic about a group that poorly defined?

how does that make conservatives look... I mean really?

it gets out of hand on both sides sometimes, but it just seems to be so intense for fellow Americans on the conservative side...

Q-burt: why is it that everytime someone says they "live by facts" they never have or use almost any facts...

it only pisses me off when someone says that and then ignores all the facts... maybe that's the problem?

and if that's what a liberal is... then about 99.99999999999999999 percent of conservatives are dead wrong on 99.99999 percent of the things they say about liberals then...

I think that is what g is talking about--there seems to be this viewpoint that all liberals are a monolithic group of people who all think exactly the same way. But it's just not true. (I also realize there are stereotypes about the right, but I am trying to make a point).

For example, I am a liberal. I am overall pro-choice, with certain restrictions in place. I am for the death penalty. I don't think certain types of profiling (for airport security, etc.) are racist. I am very pro-marriage and family (except also for homosexuals, which I guess is the part that makes me an evil lib). When I get married and have kids, I want to be a stay-at-home mom. That's just the beginning, yet according to many this isn't possible, because liberals are all baby-killing homo-loving nihilist terrorist supporters.

So yeah, liberals get pissed when they're all accused of being irrational and stupid, when a lot of times we agree with you on a lot more issues than you think! The people who enforce these false divisions (on both the left and the right) are those who have some other agenda than finding the "truth".

g, I appreciate the feelings behind your post, but you have to understand, most of the people posting in the politics section of YA really are either just looking to pick a fight, or get a pat on the back from supporters. It has nothing to do with asking legitimate questions. The best thing to do, if it bothers you, is to just ignore it--there's better things to spend your time on, like helping people with homework.... ;)

Yes, but I see the same thing from the self proclaimed liberals. It is an on again off again thing.

I consider myself to be a consevative but I am not a Bush lover. I am a supporter of my President, hust as I was a supporter of Clinton. What choice do I have?

I did not like Clinton at all and I thought he was a loser, but Bush is only a hairline above him right now. No hate here.

I am the type of person that lives by facts. People hate me for that too though...we'll never be able to win...

Here is a Fact for you. Not all Conservatives are me. That is how I think. If a person declares themself a Liberal, they are a liberal. If they call themselves a fruit, they are nuts.

You seem to be looking for a reason to argue against a conservative. I live by facts no matter how damaging.

Fact - Bush, Clinton and then Bush are all idiots. I don't like the way they ran America. I do however give Bush jr. credit for stuffing a combat boot up the terrorists azz.

Fact - Iraq should have ben done a year ago. But it isn't and I will continue to support MY COUNTRY in it's decisions even if i disagree. If you don't fine. that is what America is all about.

Why not get off of those who tell you like it is and jump the people, liberal and conservative, who only breed the hate. Unless you are one of the latter...

Apparently you and I are looking at a different list of questions. True, they come from both sides, but there is more HATE BUSH questions than anything else in my opinion. It would be nice if people would try to have real conversation (ie facts, examples etc) but unfortunatly there are alot of kids on here who don't have any idea what they are talking about, they are just spewing whatever they hear from TV, the radio, teachers, parents, movie stars etc. To be perfectly honest, I've been guilty of it too. When I answer a question about Bush and get called a Bush Whore it ticks me off and I call names too. Sorry!

I don't think libs are scum. A bit on the stupid side, but not scum. (Well, a few of them are). I don't think they love the terrorist, they just don't know how to deal with them. My definition of a liberal is someone out of touch with the heart of America. I mean, really, prisoners have rights?? I don't think so..and that's just one thing of many. They are pro abortion but against capital punishment. Hmmm...at least the guy in the electric chair got a trial. Yes there is hate everywhere. Stupidity, racism, deception, lying, stealing.....both sides. It's sad really. Merle Haggard had a song with the lyrics 'rolling down hill like a snow ball headed for hell'.

Anger/emotion lower the IQ. Gut reaction and poor impulse control (Hannity) always produce these childish outbursts and cheap attacks.

Add it up. When you are angry...

~You IQ goes down.
~You are unreasonable.
~You are likely to endanger yourself and/or those you love.
