There is a choice in between admitting it and denying it. You can say that many harsh words were spoken in the heat of the argument on both your parts (if that's true) and that you don't "recall" using that particular word. Good luck and next time think before you fly off the handle1

as a supervisor, you obviously were in the wrong for allowing the argument to get as far as it did. You should not only admit it, but you should also apologize before the delegate comes to you. It is up to you to show the more mature attitude. If you can't then maybe you shouldn't be a supervisor.

It's the supervisors word against an employees word, you'll win the argument unless there are witnesses. Just deny it, be a man.

It depends on the bad word and how you used it. What caused the argument? What got you so angry that you used the word? Was the word worse than the argument in the first place? I would try to cool off and talk to your employee one on one and straighten out your differences. You are a horrible coward if you try to deny what you said, and you would be abusing your authority.

Admit you said it, apologize for it and face the consequences. Denying it will only cause you more problems. If it is possible, you should go to her to apologize before she complains.

We are all human and make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. If President Bush can use word "****" with live international coverage on, you are nothing but a drop in ocean. If you are sorry then apologize, otherwise stand by your case if you think you were right and just lost it at that minute. Good luck!!

Admint it and apologize. Though you are the supervisor you are human as well so it is easy to say things we should not say when we are angry.
