Aconcagua is not a city, but a mountain.
With an altitude of 3.600m La Paz is highest capital of America and the World, but it's not the highest city

Define "city." (by population size would be best...since some people are answering with the names of small towns) I'd guess it's someplace in the Andes of South America. La Paz is the highest capital city...but I know there are other municipalities that are higher.

The answer is Acuonaga, Mendoza, Argentina, at 22,841 feet high. And for the record, even if we were only talking about the US, you'd still all be wrong, it's Climax, not Leadville.
