I'll give you mine:
1)Iraq- Whether we win or lose, it will affect this nation as well as the rest of the world.
2)Economy-People really care about the economy and what is happening. People will not be happy about the war and certain political parties if the economy is bad. A good economy will favor the political party in power.
3)Iran's nuclear ambitions-We must deal with this problem now sooner than later. If Iran is allowed to have nukes, then the U.S. and its allies are in great danger.
4)Illegal immigration-I am not against immigration; it's just that illegal immigration cannot continue. These people are breaking our laws and if this continue, it will have great consequences for America and Mexico. For America, the southern border states will be dominated by these people and eventually taken. For Mexico, their economy would fall because most of their work force will be in the U.S. I'd write more but i'm running out of space.

Vic, your questions make a lot of sense. They're very objective and unbiased.
1. Iraq...even if the Libs seize power again, I doubt they would "cut and run". It would cause serious doubt among our allies if the U.S. suddenly skipped out. The U.S. has made the committment and I seriously doubt either side would be held in very high esteem world wide if we suddenly left Iraq.
2. The economy, despite what some political factions say, is on a sound footing. Inflation is not rampant. Employment is high (unemployment low). The U.S. is collecting more in taxes (low taxes-people spend, people sell). Wall street is doing well (no great booming market, but still...). The summer driving season is over, refineries have started switching to "winter blend" and gas prices have lessened.
3. Iran is probably our most immediate and greatest threat right now. The "Super-Powers" maintain nuclear arsenals as a deterrent (remember? Mutually Assured Destruction) but Iran doesn't care. The leader of that country is a madman bent on elevating his status in the Islamic world by wiping Israel off the face of the earth; regardless of the consequences.
4. I, like you, don't mind if anyone immigrates to this country legally. But we HAVE to get our borders under control as soon as possible. All of these undocumented aliens are just that, we DON'T KNOW who is coming across our southern border. (Rumor has it that Venuzela's Hugo Chavez is allowing middle easterners into that country and is teaching them to act, behave and speak as some one of Spanish descent.) I agree with you, we have to get our borders under control.

Think the number 1 most important thing is to get GWB out of office. Because the US of A is turning into a dictatorship. All the other problems we currently have pale in the face of this one. He started the Iraq problem. He messed up the good economy Clinton left office with. He is trying to attack Iran with no proof just like he did with Iraq. The Illigal immigration might be the only part that GWB is is on the right track on. But don't he also want to allow the illigals to to get "get out of jail free cards"? He seems to like the fact that they will do our jobs at a lower wage and take pay under the table. I guess that gives the republicans a little free money because it would be tax free being it is under the table and half the normal wage.
So getting GWB out of office is #1, I feel the rest of the problems will be taken care of but no need to make any more problems in the world.

this most important issue is that government is dividing the people, pitting them against each other and to instill fear until civil strife and war is imminant. Then the feds can come and take peoples homes and lands. Just like new Orleans or Oregon and elsewhere until they have it all! They can make our economy fall at will in order to oppress and degrade and munipulate us slaves until all is centralized and under the control, thus making America one State. under one authority. Then our Constitution will be lifted and this is what it's all about. Soon the only place to be a little free will be in home and even that won't be yours. When you srep out there will be so many statutes and codes(voting rights away) you won't know whats right or wrong because they''ll have the masses in confusion and every time you turn around you'll be charged with something.

1. Waking America up to the war on terror actually being WW 3. Heal the split between the Democrats & Republicans and have a bipartisan war effort.
2. Safety & immigration-Continue to improve our safety and security by improving methods of scanning incoming items in our ports and at our mass transportation facilities and securing our borders. Standardize a reasonable approach to illegal immigrants.
3.Wake the Iraqi government up to the fact that we are going to leave that country in a reasonable time and it would behoove them to start standing on their own feet.
4. Continue to extend our economical growth and to develop ways of paying off our debt. One way is to develop coal to liquid fuel plants to work toward oil independency.

the most important question is why you grew wealth/power giants, and how to ungrow them, and get back to freedom, democracy, sanity, order, justice, human rights, peace and happiness
the four issues you mention are all fruit of the tree of the folly of growing wealth/power giants - and that fundamental folly has many other poisonous fruit

I think I am right with you on those as the issues (though not necessarily in agreement with your views). But I would also add in the North Korea issues, and the Israel/Lebanon "dispute".
