Studio, the bedroom has to seperate from the others to be considered a 1 bedroom apartment.

Sounds like a studio to me. The bedroom would have to be a separate room (completely closed off) from the living room, in order for it to be considered a 1-Bedroom.

It sounds to me like a 1 bedroom. If there is no dividing wall between the living and sleeping area then it would be considered a studio

A 1 bedroom generally has 3 separate rooms. a kithen, a living room and a bedroom. What you are describing is called a two room studio.
