How old do you have to be to STOP Trick-Or-Treating?

It used to be that you could go trick-or-treating all the way through high school, but many communities have set age limits on trick-or-treat night. For example, my town set the limit that no one over the age of 12 could go trick-or-treating, and not by themselves. The reason we have that law is that the older teenagers would go around smashing everyone's Halloween decorations. The town figured that the easiest way to deal with the problem was to have the cops out everywhere on trick-or-treat night, looking for wayward teenagers. If the only people who are trick-or-treating are little kids, then teenagers stick out like sore thumbs.

it depends on your community, i guess. i stopped trick or treating when i graduated high school. i say if you can get someone to go with you, hey, have fun. If you're nervous about it, find a kid, a neice, nephew, or even volunteer to babysit for the neighbours, they'll probably appreacate that they won't have to run around town with the kids!

Well to really get away with it and not come across as begging then i would say about 12.
But hey if you have a constant supply of young family members to take out with you, then you can do it forever!

My mother always said until I was a teenager. So, the last year would be when I was 12.

I stopped around 11 or 12 because our neighbors would throw stuff at us because we weren't "kids" anymore.
