We can't. We are supposed to be "above" their own tactics. We have to be "diplomatic" and get everyone's approval to go it alone anyway. So we will get s**t on until we can. At least we're doing some of what we can about it now. Can you imagine if Gore had won the election? ACK!!!!!! We'd all be in trouble!!!!!!!!

The problem is that if we take off our gloves, as you say, then this could lead to constitutional and fair treatment problems in the future. If we give special treatment to the terrorists, as in extending our punishment to them outside the boundries of US and International law, what could it lead to 50 years from now? We must maintain a baseline level of conduct so that in the future others are not treated unfairly, as far as tourture, untried death sentences, and the like are carried out. Anyway, as far as I believe, and its my humble opinion, we shouldn't try to fight them harder, but realize that our support of Israil is the catalyist in this middle east crisis. If we can quit blindly supporting a foreign and soveign nation, such as israil, we can begin to have peace in that part of the world. Only then will they quit hating us, because we always take israil's side over theirs, making them, rightfully so, feel we are against them...

Let's see. We got attacked by suicide terrorists in NYC and DC, and one plane crashed. Nothing since then, so it doesn't look like there are hordes of arab terrorists storming our shores. So, if you know where all of these terrorists are, you need to tell someone in authority, they can't seem to find any, other than iraqis who want us out of their country (wonder why they don't like our invasion?) . There is no war on terror, because we don't have anyone fighting us back., other than the hordes of TSA guys who search our luggage and steal our water bottles.

never.. geneva convention, rules of war, blah blah. .we are bound by them as a member of the United Nations.. I for one am all for just bombing almost the entire middle east. making one big sand lot and putting OUR oil rigs there and selling the gas to help ourselves get out of our deficit. .. which of course we may not be in if we didnt' constantly bail out poorer countries or send troops where they may not belong.

Actually, we can fight them even stronger through our minds.
Pray to God for super forces of nature to fight this war on terror.

The big concern is that if we fight like them, we might as well BE them.

Now, I admit, if we sent in our own suicide bombers, it would give them a taste of their own medicine, but would it escalate the tension?

That depends on defining who the terrorists are.

Because when the terrorists fight they hurt innocent civilians on both sides. We don't want to do that. if you want to do something you should join the military sometime.
