Nope. Well not in my high school anyways. The band-o's were pretty coold. Our head cheerleader, most popular kids and the jocks were all in band. You were so in the cool if you were in band.

Why should anyone be a geek just because they are in the school band? It takes talent to be in a band and they also spend a lot of time practicing that they should be comended on as well.Who knows where their talent for music will lead them in the future. Our musicians had to have come from somewhere.Maybe a little of this will help you look at band students slightly different.

it really depends how you define "band geek".

if you say a band geek is someone who attends band camp and is in the school band...which should be about everyone in the band...then yeah...they are, by that definition.

i mean...i know some social outcasts (i know...that's so superficial...but it's so TRUE) on the band...and then there are some pretty cool people too.

plus...one of my good friend's is on her high school's band...and she's awesomely funny, has really nice clothes (style), and actually has a life outside of band.

and she's proud of her "band geek" status.

soo...

yeah.

Seeing as i'm one, i think of they're incredible. each and every physique in diverse "communities" are friends at my college, so it is not something like video clips. haha We actually have a soccer participant in marching band. yet some human beings nevertheless look to think of we are nerds and geeks for being in band, yet we are quite the farthest from geeks and nerds. we are all exciting, outgoing, and loopy, yet sensible and committed on the comparable time.

All three of my daughters were in band and over 9 years I volunteered a LOT with all these kids. They are a great bunch of talented youth. As with all groups you have your different types and talent levels. But they were all dedicated. Football players, cheerleaders, Honor Roll, etc. Its all in the eye of the beholder.
