how many women would stand up for the person they love to their Parents? Considering the fact that you have been with them for 10 years and now you are at a point of marriage.

some people asked whats wrong with the parents or the person... well the mother has a depression problem and i dont think anythings wrong with me... not that I know of :)

If you truly love someone you will forsake all others, including your parents. Maybe you should reassess the situation and relationship. But, also keep in mind that when she is ready she will tell them what needs to be said, it is very difficult sometimes to tell your mother and father what you know they don't want to hear.

I think we need more info. Why don't the parents like the other person? Were the parents aware the entire 10 years that they were a couple?

All of them.you needn't worry on that.many protect a couple of months' long relationship in front of their parents.but 10 years, and where love's involved...parents don't stand a chance.i wish you well :)

my folks didn't apporve of my, now, husband, at first... but once they had a chance to get to know him, things changed...
i didn't let them steer me away thoughin the beginning
