Salsa has two basic steps, forward basic and side basic. Both have the same quick-quick-slow, quick-quick-slow .tempo.
Remember, since you're teaching him to lead, he's going to be starting with his left foot while you start with your right foot, that way you're doing the natural opposites.
His signal for you to do the ladies underarm turn is to raise his left arm (your right arm) when he's brining his left foot backwards (while your right foot is going forwards)
Those are all the basics for salsa. That's pretty much all I know of salsa anyway, although yesterday I saw a couple dance salsa incorporating crossover breaks and 5th position breaks (first time i've seen that) and I was intrigued, because I know those moves from other latin dances.
I learned salsa at a University class in "Latin Nightclub Dancing", which was given for credit, although many universities and community colleges also teach similar classes in their "extension" or "lifelong learning" departments which don't always offer college credit. You might also find group salsa classes at night clubs, public libraries, community and senior centers, parks and recreation departments, and churches.
I've danced in all of these venues.
Have fun!

You can take a class together with him, or you could take a beginner class as a leader (studios are usually fine with it, night clubs might be OK but depends, community colledge classes are OK with it too), or maybe still take a class as a follower but really pay attention to what the teacher says to the leaders and don't worry about follower's part.
Explain the music, explain the hold and the basic step, explain the underarm turn. I'm sure you can reverse-engineer those if you have been dancing for awhile. (Just think when he is supposed to release his right arm, when he's supposed to give the signal with his left arm, and how it corresponds with the music and footwork. ) This is usually the lesson #1 to all beginners.

A lot of salsa dance clubs have basic lessons before the club opens to the public. It is usually a few bucks more, or just included in the cover if you get there early.... Check out the clubs near you...

you could take a variety alongside with him, or you could desire to take a beginner type as a frontrunner (studios are generally nice with it, night golf equipment would be ok yet relies upon, community colledge classes are comfortable with it too), or perhaps nevertheless take a variety as a follower yet extremely pay interest to what the instructor says to the leaders and don't worry approximately follower's area. clarify the track, clarify the carry and the person-friendly step, clarify the underarm turn. i'm constructive you could opposite-engineer those in case you have been dancing for awhile. (merely think of whilst he's meant to launch his precise arm, whilst he's meant to furnish the sign along with his left arm, and how it corresponds with the track and footwork. ) it relatively is generally the lesson #a million to all novices.

first make him choose a song he likes...dance starts y rythm ..if he finds a melody he likes he will be exiting to start...then just help him to do the forward and backward movements until he gets used to it then in a few days you can show him another steps try to make it fun and do not push him ....the worst thing you can do is laugh at him in case he does something funny
