Dallas. Not the hokey Dallas they show on TV and in movies where everyone has cowboy boots, hats, strong accent (like fresh off the ranch). Dallas isn't like that. There are people in Dallas who live like that, but for the most part, the downtown area where I live is the best kept secret around. I live in the historic district downtown, and the houses are incredible. The architecture of the buildings is beautiful. The trees are fully mature, the arts district and Deep Ellum is right down the street. It's really a vibrant, forward looking city not stuck in the past, and if you're ever in the area, check it out.
