Advantage: learn earlier than unicultural folks that there is more than one way to do/say/feel about/think about things & that there is room in the world for many perspectives. (BIG plus)

Advatage: Grow up bilingual.(even partial use of a 2nd language is a BIG plus)

Disadvantage: Having to continually negotiate between two different approaches to a holiday/event/situation/meal/religious function. [this can teach diplomacy, consideration of others, & helping you form your own values earlier in life - more pluses]

Disadvantage: Feeling that you are not fully belonging to either culture.[ the fish-out-of-water phenomena so often found in characters from literature, like Data from Star Trek]
