First of all, I would be asking Sara why she felt this way. If her response is something you agree with or understand then it will be easier for you to back off. However, if her response is inadequate or selfish then you should let her know that this is what you want and if she is truly your friend she should want you to be happy, encourage you, and possibly even help out with a double date or something, to help break the ice.

what sara wants shouldnt be what matters. if you want to date the guy than date him, if she really is your friend in the first place then she will see thats what makes you happy and will be happy for you
