I'm curious because I have to pay all the bills, and it's really stressing me out. Not only do I have to manage our money, I have to manage our rental propertie's bills too.

I would have to say more wives and few husbands because women are more organize. They care about their credit, so if they wants things done right, it's better if they do it themselves. I don't trust my husband doing the bills because he can't even do a simple task or remember anything. I tried handling over to him once, but he failed to take over, so I took it back. I do online bill payments, so it save me a lot time. Perhaps you should look into signing up for online bill pay through your local bank. They should be FREE. It will save you stamps money too.

Well, I'm a student living with my parents at home, but I know who pays the bills in my household, cause I hear her talking about it ALL the time. My mom does all that kind of work... probably because if she left it to my dad, the accruing fines would make mountains! Other than that, they split their tasks evenly... I say that couples should play to their strengths. If you're more organizationally inclined, you can take on the bills. If he's into the culinary arts, he can put the food on the table... Relationships are about the give and take...but if you're stressing out about it, maybe it's something he would be better at. Or if you both dread the thought of it, maybe work on them together...?

Whoever is more responsible and better at handling money. You shouldn't be a shopaholic or the type to buy on impulse. One who won't forget the due dates for the bills and can remember all the preauthorized payments. And the type of person knows how to save.

I am the wife, and I do everything. He says to me "Well I do all the working, bla bla bla the least you can do is pay the bills!" So what did I do? I set everything up online and I have a dry erase calendar next to the computer so I know whats due and when, and gosh does it help! Good Luck!

I think it depedns on the man's job.
Most guys who I know that are in an office type job take care of the bills, but guys who do work such as construction usually have their wife do it.

I can only speak for our household. My husband is terrible as far as paying the bills. So, it's all left up to me.

Around here the wife does it, but than again she has a degree in accounting. She does all of our stuff on line which works because she works as a computer goob.
