I recently moved to a new city and all of my friends are also co-workers. While I certainly enjoy their company, I would like to branch out a little more. Suggestions?

How about finding some hobby groups? Maybe start going to the gym or somewhere to work out. Look for notices about new groups forming or different clubs meeting. Get adventurous and try something new.

Take an adult education class. Get involved in volunteer work.
Habitat for Humanity
Museums
Library
etc.
Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers when they are building a home. They have a lot of community involvement. I'm sure they need help with fund raising.
Library usually has a literacy class that needs help teaching reading and writing to adults.
I have met a lot of friends through volunteer work.

Find something you like.. Let say for instance "car shows".. (this is just an example)... You go to a car show, meet people, make conversation.. and hopefully you have a friend that has the same hobby as you do..

This is how I usually meet my friends, and we always have something in common/have something to conversate about..

I have found in my life experiences that you don't go to clubs & bars to find good friends.. NOT saying that you CAN'T..
