And since gas prices have gone down do use your car more often?

well since I don't drive I would say no for me. But I do feel that the economy would tahe the oppurtunity to drive more since the gas prices went down.

You might see some minor increases or decreases as the price of fuel fluctuates, but that's it. It all comes down to two things: habit and availability.

People that regularly take transit, trains, and buses generally use it habitually. The proportion of infrequent users is small. It's true that gas prices have maybe forced some out of their cars, and onto transit, but I think most people are happy to complain instead of do something about it.

Availability has a lot to do with it. I moved out of the Greater Toronto area earlier this year (one of the smartest things I've ever done), and since then, my wife and son don't go far without driving (we only have one car). When we lived in the GTA, transit was readily available, and they were regular users, because it was there. Transit is available in our area, but not like it was closer to the city, so we don't use it so much.

I have never stopped using my car because public transportation in Cincinnati sucks! It does help though that I can get gas for 1.99 a gallon now

they havent come down enough for people to drive more
