Supergroup Smackdown, where 24 bands go in, but only one comes out the favorite.

Angels and Airwaves (2005) - Wild card 1 winner
Tom Delonge (blink-182, Box Car Racer) Atom Willard (The Offspring, Alkaline Trio) Ryan Sinn (The Distillers) David Kennedy (Hazen Street, Box Car Racer)

After blink-182's abruptly announced "indefinite hiatus", DeLonge quickly recruited friends and fellow musicians. Earning the wild card spot, Delonge's new band, a role-call of alt-rockers, gets the honor of facing off...

vs.

Crosby, Stills & Nash (1968)
David Crosby (The Byrds) Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield) Graham Nash (The Hollies)

The first "supergroup," CSN, along with Neil Young, have a storried history in the music industry. Known for their distinctive vocal harmonies and activist politics, they were one of the few North American groups to rival the Beatles in popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

I know it is hardly a fair match-up, but I figured the votes might line up along age divisions, with the older crowd siding with CSN, and the younger crowd never having heard of them, and siding with the more current A&A.

csn of course. i was in a record shop today and a guy and a girl in their late teens or early 20's were buying csn's "four way street" cd and "cheap thrills" by big brother & the holding co.(janis joplin). age doesn't necessarily dictate taste. by the way, i was curious so i asked if they were buying this as a gift for someone or for themselves and it was for them.

CSN&Y are wonderful, yet I easily ought to bypass with The Highwaymen. I recommend fairly, Willie, Waylon, Johhny and Kris, what a freakin' track powerhouse. i'm regularly not a lot for u . s . a . track, yet those adult men are large. The Highwaymen for positive!
