my throat hurts when i swallow and open my mouth to yawn
i also have drainage in the back of my throat

Try any warm liquids, salt water, tea, whatever
Tons of vitamin C can work too, saunas, a hot bath , anything like that
If it lasts more than a few days go to a doc

Drainage? Postnasal drip drainage? That might be contributing to the sore throat. But if it's like pus, it might be a peritonsillar abscess and you need to see a doctor ASAP.
