theres alot of people walking around with some really horrific memories and they have a great life because they choose not to allow the past to be the future.
Only you can decide when you have had enough of this pain and that its time to let it go and when its time to move past it.
Some people really depend on their past haunting memories to get through their lives are you one of them? If the answer is no then you have to let the past be in the past and stop making it apart of your present and future.
Like I said thee are alot of people out here thats been through alot of tough s--- and they have great lives--why? Because they choose too!!!!!!!!!

One positive aspect of having a mild case of attention-deficit disorder is that I can quickly "change gears" so to speak. I could advise "not to dwell on things", but suppressing bad memories may not come naturally easy for some people. What I do is try to remember the GOOD memories while experiencing the things I want to experience so as to create more positive memories (if that makes any sense). And if it is other people that have caused these bad memories, then I would suggest severing ties to said people if you haven't done so already... of course that may not be so easy if they are your co-workers or family, but you can do your best to ignore them if they try to bring you down. Good luck!

Yes but in order to get past them, you need to focus on (an example) how much you changed from that time when the memories occurred and how far you have come.

I have alot of "bad" memories about family. It is hard to get past them, but what you can do to stop thinking about them much is to fill up your memory banks with new, great memories.

A girlfriend, friends, fun, anything. It works well.

List five ways that this memory or event benefited you. There are always, I repeat always benefits. Write it down and copy it five times for 21 days straight. Get a rosary or a cross and ask the holy spirit to take your pains, burdens, and forgive the lost souls in your life. With god nothing is immpossible,

Yes. I don't know. Some days are better than others. When I am really busy, or not at home, things seem better.

Just sometimes feelings of rejection and feeling unloved. I try to stay away from people who make me feel that way.
