Ok, he's 10 days old ABSOLUTELY NO OVER THE COUNTER COLD OR COUGH MEDICINE! My doctor made me wait until my daughter was 6 months old for that!!!! AND she's big for her age!
Sneezing and coughing is very normal for a newborn. Remember, he was living in a very different environment just 10 days ago. If he'd congested, put a blanket folded in half under his mattress to elevate it just enough to help his sinuses drain. Otherwise, just hold him & love him, he's just adjusting to the new world.
My daughter sneezed a dozen times a day until she was 2 months old. I rushed her to the dr for nothing! :) Coughing is normal, too!

I have a 3 week old little boy and im not sure if he has a cold of if he s still clearing out all the fluids from being in the womb. He does not have a fever. Every now and again he coughs or lets out a few sneezes. He has a stuffy nose but its not running and sometimes when he breathes he sounds very congested. I had a health nurse come an visit the other day and she didn t notice anything wrong with him, so im just wondering if any other moms are noticing a stuffy baby.

Unless he has a fever, don't worry about it. When a newborn sneezes, it's usually his way of trying to clear his nose. My son sneezed and coughed every so often throughout the day when he was a newborn, and still does it today at 4 months old.

A sneeze is an attempt to get something irritating out of his nose. A coughing could be more serious. If the cough does not go away call the doctor. Find out what is irritating his nose and remove it. That will end the sneeze.
PS
I don't know anything about children's health. Get some one that knows.

sneezing is very normal in newborns. Its something to do with their nose particles developing. It's the coughing that has me a little concerned. How is he eating and sleeping? Does he have a fever? If he is eating fine, sleeping fine, and doesn't have a fever then just keep an eye on him. He probably just has a little cold. you can buy infant cold meds over the counter that can help with decongestant. Pediacare makes a great one. A warm bath may also help. If you are still concerned or his cough doesn't go away then call your doc. That's what they are there for. If anything you will get a piece of mind and be able to sleep better. But it's never easy seeing our little ones not feeling good.

10 days old is not old enough to take OTC medication for colds, his little system couldn't handle that yet. I think the VERY earliest they introduce meds is 3 months usually not until 6 months.
You don't say if he has a fever or any other symptoms. Is it a productive cough, mucous from nose, etc....
I would say to be safe you need to call your doctor and ask their opinion. When they are so little, even a little cold can turn dangerous quickly. It could be nothing, but I wouldn't take chances with the little guy.

You don't say how old your son is. If he's really brand-spanking new, he's probably just clearing his lungs and head of any mucous that got in there. My girls sneezed and coughed a bunch when they were really brand new.
But if he's older than that, but still under a few months, you can't give over-the-counter cold medicine. (Most pediatricians will tell you that it doesn't work, anyway.) And the dosage for teeny babies isn't listed on the package, anyhow, so you'll have to call the pediatrician and get advice.

Sneezing is very normal, it's the only way they know how to get what's in their nose out. Try a cool mister where the baby sleeps, it will help with his breathing and clearing his nasal passages. The coughing is a little worrysome at this age, call your ped and he will you give you the right advice.

It's normal for babies to cough and sneeze, mine did it and no cold or flu or anything of the sorts. babies cough and sneeze to clear out those passage ways. I doubt your baby is sick, Just because someone is coughing or sneexing adult or child doesn't mean they're sick, there's just getting some spit, mucus up out of the passage ways. But, if you're really concerned call the doctors office.
