i m frm bangladesh. i have been in usa for almost 5 yrs. whn i was in bangladesh i didnt wear dresses like jeans or skirts i didnt know how to speak english so all my cousins didnt like me tht much. but now since i have been to this country for 5 yrs i have changed myself. one week after i m going to bangladesh to visit my relatives and i know tht whn they will see difference in me they will embrasses me about my past. wht should i do or say

tell them you're american now. and in america, we don't care about who you were in the past - we care about who you are now.

Sometimes u need to change yourself on the outside to be with the way people dress.
But that does not mean that u changed completely u r still the same person as u were when u left your country.
All u had to do was make yourself used to the country that u r in now!!!!!

I'm from Bangladesh too but I've been living here for 11 years... Hey, you are who you are. You're just trying to fit in and be happy. If you're family can't take it, screw them (not literally). If they really loved you, they'd accept you for who you are.

tell them that is how u like ur self and they need to accept u 4 who u r
and also tell them that the past is in the past and tht u have let go and so should they!

just tell them that ur trying new things. ask them their opinion. if they don't like the way u dress go back to the old way of dressing and change when u come back to the usa.

I think you should be yourself . Dont change yourself or do or say anything you would not normaly do. If they love you then they wont care how much you have changed . (but I do not know how people are there. I dont want you getting hurt or anything,)

I would tell them that changing for the better is nothing to be embarassed about and that they should be the ones who are embarassed because they still haven't gotten any better.

Just be confindent and act like you don't even care what they say. This will make them realize that you don't care and they will shut up about it. Remember CONFIDENCE is the key!!!

be yourself, if there your family, dont take it seriously, They love you, dont forget ur heritege...ur not american till u eat hot dogs everyday, and u eat chicken with ketchup and think mexico is a state of the u.s not a country
