Read "The Journey of Man - A Genetic Odyssey" by Spencer Wells, the National Geographic documentary (shown in America) was based on this book.

He traces the links back to a tribe of hunter gatherers that were African based about 60,000 years ago, but he does not name any specific person.

There is also another interesting subject called mt-Eve (mitochondrial Eve) where the evidence suggests that the beginning Adam (as described in Wells' book) and the beginning Eve WERE NOT alive at the same time.
