well sodium chloride is salt so all you have to do is:
1. add water to the sand and salt.
2. stir until salt dissolves.
3. Use a coffee filter and filter out the sand.
4. Place the remaining water in a tray that is nice and flat so the water is in a thin layer.
5. Place the water and salt solution in the sun.

The water will evaporate and leave the soduim chloride.

try backwashing it with water - the sand is heavier and should sink to the bottom.

to backwash it, put a screen in the bottom of a container and drill a small hole in the bottom, so a hose can fit in it.

load the sand and sodium chloride, and then turn on the hose for about 10 minutes.

then let settle.

or, if the sodium chloride is dissolved in the solution, just pour the water out into another container, and leave the sand, and when the water evaporates, the sodium chloride will be there.
