First he told me i was pregnant, then said to call and schedule an appointment. He said see the doctor once a month utill 6 months along then you start going every 3 weeks. Then, every two weeks. And then once a week. Go see another doctor. Maybe he will say the same, but you will get to decide who you trust more and who you want 2 deliver you baby. good luck and congrats.

That depends. Were you just going to confirm your pregnancy or was it your first prenatal visit? If it was just a confirmation than I wouldn't expect a lot. But if it was your first prenatal visit then your doc should have spent more time with you asking you if you have questions going over how important it is to keep healthy and take folic acid. My doc gave me a pregnancy packet on my first prenatal visit. The doctors are there for you so take advantage of them. If you have questions or concerns don't leave the office until you feel comfortable. There is nothing worse then a doctor making you feel rushed or unimportant.

Yes this is normal. They don't see you for prenatal checkups until you are 10-12 weeks pregnant since there is not much they can do before then, they cannot hear a heartbeat or anything that soon

It's normal unless you've had lots of trouble with your pregnancies. With my first baby my doctor made an appointment for 4 weeks later. I think the normal way they do things is monthly appointment for the first 7 months then 2 week appointments for the next month and then weekly until it's time for your baby to be born.

ya that's normal. They don't really do much more at the appointment then that. Because of the fact there is nothing they can do. Not to scare you, but one in every five women have miscarriages. There is nothing yo can do about them, and most women do not have them. But until the doctor knows at about 12-16 weeks if you are the one in five, he will not rack up medical bills. Its all up to your body the first 3 months. Here is a good site to check out it will give you week by week information about your body changing and the growing baby. Just make sure you take your vitamins!!

Mine perscribed pre-natals right away. And then proceeded to ask questions about choices and setting up my next appointment and gave me alot of printed info about everything I could have ever wanted to know. She was very helpful and continued to be the best doctor that I have ever had.
