You should know this, considering that you are female (I think). The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote in the USA.

The 19th ammendment gives women the right to vote. It was a hotly contested issue, in 1920 Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify this ammendment, and it became the 19th ammendment to the constitution. Basically it gave the women the right to vote. Passed in 1920. However Wyoming gave these rights to women in the 1870's.

The right to vote can not be denied based upon a person's sex. It applies to the state and federal level.
