I want to purchase items online and have family send me items through UPS, but I have no clue if they would be able to ship it to my college dorm.

You should be able to. Is there a student office at the place where you get your mail? You can ask someone there how it works. Usually they sign for the package, hold it, and put a note in your mailbox for you.

Pack your car with only essentials, like cosmetics and the computer. Leave clothes at home.You'll want to buy all new clothes when you get to college and see how everyone else dresses. A small radio is nice. Televisions are too bulky and the campus is full of TVs. If you like cards, bring several decks. You can learn to play Bridge! Bring ONE good Dictionary, and maybe a one-volume encyclopedia. All other books, leave at home.The campus will have more and better books, than you could imagine dreaming about. Oh, yeah.. Bring lotsa money, and a credit card with a high limit.:-) Jim

Yes, UPS delivers to all college dorms. Often to a central reveiving area and then they notify you and you will pick it up from the college's receiving.
I send UPS "care packages" to my kids in college all of the time (4 different colleges).

Yes, they just need a mailing address. The do not ship to po boxes.

yes. i order stuff through amazon.com (i think it gets shipped by fedex) and it gets shipped to my dorm. they just stick a little note in my mailbox saying i have a package and i take the note to the front desk, where they give me the package.

As long as there is a physical address, (and not any PO Box)UPS can ship there
