why is she on the news and who is she?

She is on the news because people watch her videos on the you tube(http://www.youtube.com) and her my space (http://www.myspace.com/lonelygurl15). Since so little is known about her people want to know who is she.
why is she so famous and stuff?

a lot of people watched her vlogs. so she is famous and its around 3 million people have watched her videos in since june...
basically she is doing a role play of a 16 year old girl and blah blah... since people didnt know that it was a story, people thought that she was real and put real comment and suggesting and "helping" her in her daily life...so in this way people were involved in her...
it was just like american idol where the public were allowed to contact the star...(of course they didnt know that when they were doing)

not till one week ago... but now yes... she is everywhere...cnn, mtv, tonights show with jey lenno, different magazines...all over
whats about her to know?

since a few days back no one knew nothing about her... people were fascinated weather she is real or not and this created a huge information lag.... and her videos were not that clear to make the storyline...
this is a latest internet phenomenon...
but now she has given interviews in many places... the information is there ...
so in few days the rush will be down...
but her story in her home page will continue...
I hate that i was cheated but i praise the people who created it...coz they were successful in cheating me...

Lonelygirl15 is a girl who was supposedly the subject of a series of short videos that were uploaded to YouTube. Her background was that she was 16 years old and homeschooled, so she didn't have a lot of friends.
The videos grew in popularity and spawned "response" videos and a lot of discussion in several places on the internet.
A few days ago, it came out that "Lonelygirl15" was, in fact, a 19-year-old actress and the films were basically scripted. Whether this is fraud, a new form of media, a viral marketing campaign or something else entirely is a matter of opinion.

When I first saw one of her videos, I thought she looked 20-ish then I saw her profile and she was only 16! But of course she's only a character portrayed by a much older actor so yeah it makes sense.

She posted false videos on the internet and now she has appeared on T.V. and people know about her which is the most ridiculous and stupid thing I have ever seen happen in my life.
