Do go to stage agent, as smiley 654 suggested. Also the show is available on video (but there are difference from the stage play). Knowing something about the show and the characters always helps.

But for most school and community shows, the auditions are done as "cold readings". This means they will hand you a script, but you in front of the director(s) with another actor or two, and have you do the scene with no rehearsal. (Scary thought). Usually they are NOT looking for blocking, meaning they will not expect you to move around or pick up props, etc. They use want to hear what your voice is like, how much expression and emotion you can put into your voice, and what your facial expressions are like.

Since it is a musical, you may also be asked to sing a few lines from a song that they will rehearse with everybody, and also to learn a few steps from one of the dances. With the dance, they do not expect you to be "perfect" after five minutes of rehearsal. They look more for enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and whether you do it with a "smile" - look good to the audience.

So go for it. You may discover that you have a passion for acting and the stage that will stay with you for the rest of your life (and your spouse, kids and even grandkids).
