Ursula Le Guin - The Dispossessed

"Suffering is a misunderstanding" ... "It exists" ... "It's real. I can call it a misunderstanding, but I can't pretend that it doesn't exist, or will ever cease to exist. Suffering is the condition on which we live. And when it comes, you know it. You know it as truth. Of course it's right to cure disease, to prevent hunger and injustice, as the social organism does. But no society can change the nature of existence. We can't prevent suffering. This pain and that pain, yes but not Pain. A society can only relieve social suffering, unnecessary suffering. The rest remains. The root, the reality. All of us here are going to know grief; if we live fifty years, we'll have known pain for fifty years. And in the end we'll die."

Yes, life is suffering. Or at least, suffering is a part of all things in life, both good and bad.

If you choose to avoid legitimate suffering, then you will suffer at least twice as much suffering, as you suffer for the wrong decision then suffer to impliment the correct one.

But it is through suffering that we gain strength and insight.
It is through suffering the disappointments of life that make us stronger there by making us a more productive member of society.

The essence of life,, is in fact death. Suffering,,,,,, how much do we bring on ourselves, allow to be brought on by ourselves, brought on by others, can not be controled in anyway at all.
Why look at the negative? Will it not bring more suffering?
I try to look for the positive even in the face of darkness........
positive will bring more positive while negative brings more negative. The bright side of life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will shine through. Find peace, love and joy in your heart and life.
