I went to the doctor and got a little pill to take (Lotensin 20mg). I lost about 25 points of BP and am at or below safe levels now. It's easy.

I tried salt reduction, but that had no effect. I have no side effects from the drug except that I sleep a little more heavily (that's a good thing usually). It's also generic and cheap.

Watching fish in a tank will do it. Getting something done that you're worried about helps, too.

PS don't eat real Licorice; it'll boost your BP.

Take it from this nurse. If you do not have one buy your own blood pressure monitor at a pharmacy. Check it at least once or twice a day. To reduce your blood pressure. reduce the intake of your salt. read labels, especially canned food...they are very very high in salt also known as sodium. Food in cans are preserved with brie....a really high salt preservative. Exercise to help reduce stress.Stress is a big factor which causes high blood pressure. Eating certain vegetables known for diuretic effect(make you urinate more) such as mushrooms help bring down your blood pressure. It is good to talk with your doctor about you BP...blood pressure if it is to high you can have a stroke or heart attack. The doctor may put you on a medication to help reduce your BP...You want to keep it around 120/70. Just FYI.Low BP may cause you to pass out, so take care and work with your doctor and take your own BP. It is good to compare it to your doctors reading. You BP numbers are always changing, which is normal. The higher the numbers the more in danger you are.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.
