Some little prankster decided to scratch up my front and rear windows of my van. What can get them off WITHOUT replacing them? And without the expense of a shop visit

I have had this problem come into my shop and here is something you can try and in some cases it works.
Toothpaste.
It will get miner scratches out, if thy are deeper then that, get some jewelers rug es. it is a paste that thy use to polish rings and things.

Depending on how deep the scratches are, there are several products available that can "buff" them out. A cheap product that you may have lying around would be a CD / DVD cleaner that gets rid of scratches.
