WTF?!!! We are trying to sell our house. Tonight we got back after a showing to find that our house (which we cleaned all morning to be sparkling clean) had been "invaded" not only by the parents but also their kid, who was about 5 or 6. (We saw them in the driveway when we were coming home and had to circle the block a few times before they left.)

So we go inside and see that something purple was dribbled all over the carpeting (which is practically new) in 8-10 spots. I scrubbed and scrubbed, and most of it came out, but there is one spot I couldn't totally clean. It was something liquid and purple (I'm guessing a juice box, drool of lollipop or maybe a popsicle).

What should I do to that damn kid or his parents if I ever see them again? 10 points for the best answer to make me feel better!

We had a sign clearly posted saying to remove wet or dirty shoes.

Smile at them from the other side of the table at closing!

If you have some oxyclean in your laundry, try that first. Then you might try the old standby for red wine stains...soda water. Between the two of those I think you may get all of the stain. But if not, there are some great spot removers that shouldn't hurt the carpet.

Lol I'm sorry it happened.
You should alert your realtor to the fact that it did happen and ask him or her what they think you should do and who will pay for it. In any event I was taken by your anger and frustration so I found this link for you, see if they have anything in there that will work. http://members.tripod.com/~Barefoot_Lass/carpet.html
If nothing works on the one stubborn one try a throw rug or a plant.

Don't you wait to see them again!!! Look fro their address and go and throw eggs in front of their house!!! But hey... don't throw just one okkkkkkkk Throw like a dozen or more, make them suffer the same way you are doing with the carpet!! Hope this makes you feel better!!

Ask them to hold their juice (drink) next time while looking at your house, since you had some spills before.

Contact your REALTOR and tell them.

The realator should pay for cleaning, then post a "Please, No Food Or Drink Inside" and or "please remove your shoes".
