S = number of employees in aerospace
G = number of employess in agriculture

S + G = 3000

0.10 S + 0.15 G = 0.12 x 3000

Those are the two equations you get from turning the word problem into equations. You can solve the two problems like this:

S= 3000 - G, so substitute that into the second equation:

0.10 (3000 - G) + 0.15 G = 0.12 x 3000

then solve for G,
300 - 0.10 G + 0.15 G = 360
- 0.10 G + 0.15 G = 360 - 300
0.05 G = 60
G = 60 / 0.05
G = 1200

Since G + S = 3000, S has to be 1800.

144 out of aerospace and 216 in agriculture 12% of 3000 is 360 and since you have percentages divisible by five divide 360 by five and you get 72 and since you have 10 percent and 15 percent add those and you get 25 or five times five and since fifteen is five times three and ten is five times to you use that to tell how many atre in each of the departments

spell them correctly ;) and ye shall find

p.s. America is not the world
p.p.s as a maths problem this should be there
p.p.p.s I was bored enough to solve it
there must have been 1800 people in aerospace and 1200 in agriculture
