50.00 a week back in the '70 at a drive-inn (hamburger joint) I worked there for about two years after school and on weekends and through the summer. The money was better than nothing and it teaches you responsibility and the desire to get a good education or you will be stuck in that kind of situation forever. Remember you have to crawl before you can walk.

My first pay check was for $79.00...I worked for Giant Food in the Pharmacy department and made $1.25 an hour....This was my first job and was quite a bit of money back then in 1967...

it was $26 for an afternoon of delivering newspapers when i was 12. approximately $8/hr for a 12 year old kid in the 70s was pretty good money.
