Domain would be any value that you can put in for x. Since there are no restrictions on x, there are no restrictions on the domain.

Range is the values for your function based on the domain values you put in. Determining your range is a little more complex then domain. The smallest value you can get for x^2 is 0, so the largest value you can get for the range is 3. The range would be from negative infinity to 3.
