If we evolved from unicellular organisms that formed from a soup of simple elements, why do these organisms still exists? If evolution is a true shouldn't all living organisms be human?

Jim you Idiot...Breeding a dog has nothing to do with evolution. Breeding is natural, and that is not proof of evolution. The theory of evolution talks about changes to one organism. So you are teling me that the modern human is a product of two different organisms from the past?

Ok..If you want to say that your grandparents are apes..I have no problem with that.
I respect myself and the human species to much to think myself a grandson of an ape.

Greetings;
Unfortunately you appear to have a limited understanding of the theory of evolution, and judging by your follow up posts, you are already prejudiced towards rejecting any evidence for evolution. Regardless of this, I will attempt to provide some enlightenment.
The progenitor species in no way has to go extinct for evolution to occur. Speciation can occur under numerous circumstances (reproductive isolation, mechanical isolation, physical isolation ect.) but none of these require the progenitor to die off. The theory of natural selection functions off of the idea that whatever species is better able to fulfill its niche will out compete less adapted species and will be successful. Bacteria and other single-celled organisms exist today because they fill a certain niche.
Please take some classes in evolutionary biology if you are really interested. Heck, find an undergrad class and sit in on the lectures.
P.S.
"I respect myself and the human species to much to think myself a grandson of an ape."
But it is respect? Can the truth ever be an insult? By your attitude I am making an assumption that you know very little about the theory of evolution and about science as a whole.
Science works by questioning. Questions are a good thing, and it's good that you are asking. What is bad is your attitude. You appear to have closed you mind to any answer outside of your worldview. Science looks to answer questions, but you cannot go into an experiment wanting to reject your findings.

Lets put one thing straight first.
PURE Science and PURE Religion do not contradict each other
Evolution is a Scientific THEORY it is NOT Pure Science.
God has Created Rules and follows them.
God is Logical he does not contradict himself.
There is only ONE True Religion.
Evolution is a theory that all living creatures evolved from some a common evolutionary ancestor.
Evolution also states that this creature evolved from rocks and rain. the reverse steps are
animals and plants - single celled organism - prehistoric cell and mitocondria and chloroplasts - ooze that contains building blocks of life - rocks and acid rain - lava and gases from volcanoes.
that is what unpure-science claims you evolved from
Evolutionary Theory also is missing too many pieces to make a detailed map or picture. like making a puzzle with only 0.1% to 1% of the pieces. doesn't work period.
and since religion gives the only other alternative i'll have to go with the belief that we ARE created by God.
after all how does a quatinary biological programing language (DNA) that works actually come into existance by accident.
there is too much order in the universe for it to have just happened.

To answer your question, the reason why certain unicellular organisms continued to grow into more involved multicellular organisms and others did not, is simply because of some of the things that can CHANGE (temperature, terrain restrictions, weather, flooding, etc.) the rate of evolution and what exactly has changed.
To make this as simple as possible for you, try this example:
Salmon are notorious for swimming upstream to lay their eggs and then dying.
What about the landlocked salmon in Lake George? They have no stream to swim up and live their lives locked in a lake with no natural ways to escape.
Surely this animal had to ADAPT and EVOLVE in order to survive this change, no?

No. Some people go from knowing nothing about evolution to understanding the idea behind this natural law (not a theory) while so many others obviously don't even understand the first thing about it. There is an example of why all living organisms are not human.
Hate to come down so hard, but this kind of thing gets really tiring. Try to at least understand what the idea is before you call it stupid. This is what scientists do. They criticize their own ideas in private before they go around telling everyone how it is. Thats why scientific ideas are usually more sound than religious rantings.
You didn't mention religion, but usually people who are so bent about environmental selection processes are up on some defensive... just consider this:
You can believe in God and enviromental selection processes at the same time. Maybe its the process that God used. Scientists aren't saying who did it, just how it was done, thats all--

Evolution is an attempt to explain an origin but is not really science. there are other things that better explain how we came to be and will hold up better under scrutiny than evolution. There are really to sides to this, a person who believes in a creator and that all things are by design or a person that believes we came about by random chance or evolution "no creator". there is "in my opinion" more evidence that shows design by a creator, for instance, all languages read in the direction of Jerusalem, all life and all things can be broken down to they're digital code "codes have to be designed". These and many more points can verified easily enough on the Internet and especially if you have access to a college database. Khouse.org
is a good place to start. Evolution has alot of conjecture and some of the dating methods questionable and inaccurate such radiometric carbon dating.

There are many intelligent, very well educated people who believe in what you call a "stupid theory." Evolution is not a progression towards humans - we are here by "chance" as any other species of animal. I would suggest you educate yourself in the subject before you give out such opinions, or you may be the one who appears stupid.

Your question is easy to explain. You have been brain washed by your parents that a fairytale book and a make believe god are the truth and are real.
The second thing is that evolution is not a theory. It is real fact.
It is done all the time.. I guess your god made the German Shepard? I think that was Germans cross breading which the dog evolved into what it is today. It has been done with many breads. Just like with humans.
Well Dumb @ss what do you think evolution is? It is changes in anything. You was one thing and you evloved into something else.
See you really are brain washed. I bet you even give 20% of you income to a rich man in a church so he can travle the world and ride in limos.. But I guess that is helping god as well.
I feel sorry for you to have been miss treated in such a way in your child hood.
And how you want to think of your self or the human race don't matter.. There is your beliefs and then there are facts..
Now give me my 10 points and get it over with because you know I am right and you are wrong.

I'm not a scientist, but . . .
I believe that genetic material mutates in unpredictable ways, and environmental factors reward different mutations. This explains why evolution accounts the multitude of different organisms.

For argument sake, lets say that it took only 1000 mutations for man to evolve. And every time two atoms past each other, a mutation occurred. And every mutation happened in the proper sequence. Our solar system is not old enough for evolution to be valid. Ask a mathematician.

ahh, you're so religious. do you want God someday just make you vanish, just as he created you? of course not!! so you'd better believe that you evolved from apes. it's natural selection, the best survive. different species adapt to different environments.
