You see, the problem is that a criminal on death row is not a fetus in a womb. Politicians care very much about fetuses in wombs who haven't done anything to anybody. You know, the "preborn."

It's when you become "postborn" that they couldn't give a f*ck about you. You're right, it doesn't make any sense. Welcome to the wonderful world of politics...

Government is influenced by the Far Right--Pro life and anti stem cell research. As for the death penalty; many believe it is a deterrent to crime. When Bush was governor, Texas had the highest execution rate in the nation and Texas was not exempt from crime. Dickens wrote of daily executions and the highways were not safe and people were locked in their homes in fear. That paragraph could have been written last week in any Texas City. and the death penalty is alive and well.

Conservatives tend to follow their beliefs, which are often based on religion. Killing is forbidden but we're also told that we can take an eye for an eye. Therefore the logic is quite simple. Abortion is considered killing an innocent life while the death penalty for someone who has committed murder is justified.

Easy - it is BECAUSE they are so pro-life that they feel that if you take a life, it is the ultimate form of criminal behavior and should be punished by the ultimate form of punishment.

And, simply put, a life is not a life - you just can't compare John Lennon's life to Mark Chapman's, or Abe Lincoln's to John Wilkes Booth, or thousands of innocent men, women and children to the Islamic terrorists - can you - honestly?

This answer makes so much sense that I know even you can understand it.

Ummm, sure ... An unborn child doesn't have choices ... they are innocent.

Death penalty is due to ones CHOICES in life .. they have taken another persons life or committed a very violent crime.

Hope that helps, kiddo.

P.S. In Singapore for example you receive the death penalty for armed robbery. Do you think their crime rate is ... ?

A. Lower than the US.?
B. Much lower than the US?
C. Significantly lower than the US?

You can pick which answer you think is the best.

There is a difference from terminating a baby's life. Most abortions are held in the third trimester, WHICH MEANS DRILLING A HOLE THROUGH THE BRAIN OF THE BABY TO TERMINATE IT.

The death penalty after exhaustive trials hearings mean you are finally held accountable.

Libs please don't tell me about the one or two who were innocent, because every year there are 2million innocent lives flushed from the woman's body...either by flow or vacuum suction.

This is the basic truth..

The individual did a deliberate act that made them eligible for the death penalty - a fetus didn't. Do you see a difference.

The Defendant get's a trial and is covicted by twelve of his peers. Where is the Babies jury trial? that's the difference. A woman can decide to murder another human being, simply because the person happens to be renting the wrong womb for 9 months.

The death penalty is for people who have taken anothers life.
Unborn Babies haven't committed any kind of crime.

It's a question of who is being killed and why. Did Tim VcVeigh deserve to live after what he did? NO! Do people who molest and then kill CHILDREN deserve to live? NO! Do tiny babies (fetuses, if you must call them that) deserve to live? YES! They are innocent, never even had a chance! Whatever the circumstance of their conception was, it certainly wasn't their fault! Life is life is not a correct statement....innocent life is percious......guilty, those not able to be rehabilitated are a waste of oxygen.
