We use it every time we figure out an answer (scientific method). Scientific method, which is simply asking a question and then finding a way to answer it, is the basis of all progress. Every time someone asks "Is there a better way" and comes up with a better way - it is called progressive or advancement. So everything that you see and/or use daily that isn't associated with ancient times comes from science and technology.
