Why is it, as a Catholic, I have to endure bonfire night and the orange parades, and yet when the Pope makes some vague reference to a 14th Century Byzantium King, the world and its oyster seems hellbent on castigating him for his attack on Islam?
Is it that Islam is higher up the pecking order in religions than the others? I don't remember the British Government being too sweet with Northern Irish Catholics during the 70s and 80s, and yet the slightest comment or cartoon against Islam and we're all denouncing the Pope or the Danes, or whoever dares to make any sort of comment about it.
It seems that the Head of the Catholic church is not allowed to make any reference to Islam but in the same breath we have the leader of Iran denouncing the whole of the USA as the Satan of the world, from a Muslim perspective..
What on earth is going on?

The Pope's question was so intelligent, that the average Muslim did not understand it. He was actually asking a question, and some muslims have answered it. WAKE UP one day a law will be passed in the States, if you disagree there will be repercussions, no not the Reps or Dems, the religion of peace.
Yo Libs....the Kingdom of Heaven is not a historical fact...its hollywood

Having actually read the popes speech - it is obvious that he does not attack Islam at all - but remember some of the protests in the middle east are staged by governments for political ends - I'm sure most muslims aren't offended by the pope

Sunni Muslims might pick to think of that there is not any non secular hierarchy yet there is an hassle-free, over whelming presence of mullahs and The Ulema whose notice is taken as regulation and that they are not often, if ever, puzzled. additionally via fact the component to any faith is to regulate its followers, i won't be in a position to think of of any faith that unquestionably has NO hierarchy even nevertheless there probable are some imprecise ones.

The Pope's question was a cheap shot against the Orthodox faith and not an attack on Islam.
Muslims do not know their own history about how Islam spread by the sword after Muhammad died.
Remember that Satan owns the Pope - like he did in 1453 and in 1054 when the Great Schism occurred.

You end your question with what on earth is going on ? = well the Raving Power Mad leaders of so called Islam want Total Control over everything and everybody - as no doubt you have seen some of the Interviews with Muslim Leaders and their kind on Television Etc. there is no meaningfull "Discussion" it,s "Their Way or No Way" = none stop barrage of words , insisting their opinions are the only ones which count, theirs is the only "True Religion" which in itself is a total outrage. the sickening truth is that the whole world is facing a great dillema from these Vile Power Mad so called "Religious" leaders , who,s aim, in reality, is to have "World Domination" by enforcing a state of Islam , thats whats "Going On"

Enoch Powell got it absolutely right. We didn't listen then and we are not listening now.
Something will have to give sooner or later when a culture refuses to integrate into any society it moves into and religiously (what a frightening word that has become) stifles any criticism by screaming and waving banners and placards.
Were we to do the same in an Islamic country,
WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN ?
Correct !!!

I agree with you completely. We need to remember that many Islamic voices are denouncing freedom of speech, women's rights, and separation of state and religion. These Islamic Fascists want one thing: religious governments. Freedom-loving people understand that religion is important, but it should not be confused with running a government. Freedom of religion is not governing BY religion. Leave this Pope alone! He has the right to refer to a truth of history if he so desires.
