For a hand tied bouquet, begin with centre flower, surround with foliage and spiral all other flowers & foliage, lying each piece against the last. Tie with sisal as this will cling and hold the stems together. For a modern hand tied, use larger more exotic flowers and use a collar of large leaves e.g. fatsia, palm, chameorops etc. Use cellophane and raffia, not ribbon

Go to a florists shop and ask them to do it - it's infuriatingly impossible if you're a floral layperson.
