I like Clinique because it doesn't mess with my allergies. Get one or two Mac colors and try them out one day when you aren't going to leave your house so if they bother you you can get it off fast and won't be somewhere you can't remove it.

I don't think it's a question of better. It's a question of what your looking for per say. I'm a former clinique associate. I also use to be a freelance make-up artist with MAC.
Clinique is hypo-Allergenic. The colors and consistency are really nice. Yet, the pigment isn't really there. They never really show up too much on the skin. Especially if your a woman of color. They tend to show up very soft.
MAC is more of a stage make-up line. Just like the line called "Make-up Forever". The colors are very pigmented. So, from the alabaster to Ebony of skin. The same color shows up with the same consistency. Which in my opinion is important. Just like not breaking out. What most people tend to break out from is not the make-up itself. It's the fragrance that is in it. MAC does have both. Just go to the counter and ask for a makeover and speak to the make-up artist about it. This way you can try it out and see how your skin reacts. I hope this helps?

Mac cosmetics come in such an array of colors. I dont think that they will irritate your eyes. I also have very sensative eyes and mac is literally all i use. Some things to consider when shopping for shadows at mac are:
1: Try to stay away from really glittery shadows, these will more likely irritate your eyes becuase of the heavier chunks. ( Stay away from lusters, look for velvets, satins and mattes)
2: Mac also makes pigments, which are loose shadows, these also may bother your eyes more becuase there is more fallout with these shadows.
3: Reds are known to be the most irritant to eyes. Alot of people are allergic to the red dyes found in red eyeshadows, so these have a higher chance to irritate you eyes.
4: lastly, MAc's sales associates are extremely helpful and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. Ask them which products arent eyesafe and which could effect your eyes. They may also help you find colors that compliment your eye and skin colors well.
I hope this helps, and i hope you do decide to try out macs line, they really are fabulous, and so easy to work with!

Clinque is lighter and allergy tested so its probably best for you skin. Mac is thicker and comes in a lot more colors. I suggest you go with Clinique, I'd rather sacrifice some eyeshadow colors then mess up my eyes.

I would stick with clinique because they do have nice colors and it's more important to have healthy eyelids than colorful ones. Ask your opthamologist about the ingredients in MAC if you really want to try it.

You're just going to have to try MAC. Clinique's eyeshadows are good (they're a lot better than they were a few years ago!) but MAC has a larger, trendier color selection.

Try Mac, because it looks better and more edgy - if it messes up your eyes, switch back to clinique.
