The ONLY thing that I've used that really worked is called OXY-CLEAN and I bought it from a T.V. Advertisement. If you can find it...buy it. It does much more than just rust.

Good luck!

They sell a rust remover in the laundry detergent aisle at the grocery store. Try that then use a good detergent, I use Tide for the items with stains after pretreating.

I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT DAUGHTER HAD HER CARPET CLEANED AND THERE WAS A SPOT OF RUST. THE CARPET CLEANER PUT WD 40 ON THE SPOT. I QUESTIONED HIS ACTIONS AND HE SAID THEY USE IT ALL THE TIME. GUESS WHAT, IT REMOVED THE RUST.
HOPE IT WORKS.
