It doesn't. However, it does say that you have the right to pursue happiness and education is certainly one of those things.

There is nothing in the CONSTITUTION that says we have a right to an education. It is not in the Amendments, nor in the full text of the document. It is not a trick question.

When the Founding Fathers were working on the Constitution, they had envisioned rights for Americans- white, male, Protestant Americans with property. These were the people who could afford an education. Many others were too busy working-farming mostly to be able to go to school.

Men were the most literate. White men.

That's probably more than what you expected.

I hope it helps.

There is nothing in the Constitution that grants the right to free education, the closest arguement you can make is for Article 1, section 8 "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States", with the key term being "general Welfare".

I don't believe that it does state that specifically. You might try googling for a copy of the Constitution and searching the text for the term "education".

It is not a federal right, but an entitlement. If you look in most state constitutions it is there. This is because states control education, not the federal government. The federal government can fund it, but not regulate it (unless it is through a stipulation to receive funding).

There is no constitutional guarantee that gives you a right to education.

It does not.
Neither is separation of church and state in the constitution.

It doesn't say that at all. Not in any of the articles or amendments.
