Bleach, just make sure you wash it well before you chop on it

Scrub the surface using a stiff brush under hot water to remove any food or stains.

Also try sprinkling the board with salt and rub it all over with the cut side of a lemon.

Once every six months cover your chopping board with vegetable oil and let stand overnight. Then, wipe off the oil. The board will last indefinitely.

Soak it in a sink full of hot water with a couple of capfuls ( and that is the cap from the bleach) of bleach. You'll have to rinse it well when you're done. Also you can try to rub a lemon over it, they have great bleaching powers also.

Soaking in bleach works nicely and also sanitizes the board. for extraordinarily obdurate stains and to get rid of grooves and nicks try sanding it with an excellent grit sand paper. I easily have 3 forums they get an annual sanding and they look large.

Baking soda mixed with salt is a food-safe "scouring powder" that may work, depending upon the texture of your board.

depends if it is white....you can set it in a solution of bleach. If you have a colored one, you can still soak it in the bleach, but it may fade the color somewhat.

I'd try soaking it in bleach and if that didn't work, I'd try some lemon juice. Good luck.
