Hi Double-X!

You'll see a total eclipse of the moon, already in progress when the sun sets this March 3rd, 2007. Then there's another in the wee hours of the night of August 27-28, and yet another total lunar eclipse visible in SC the evening of February 20, 2008.

Hey, I'm an avid amateur astronomer in South Carolina myself. The next total lunar eclipse will be on March 3 2007. This particular eclipse will be unique in that every continent on the planet will be able to view it. Eastern North Americans like us will be able to see the moon already fully or partially eclipsed at moonrise and then watch as the eclipse concludes.

Young Beauty above may need some brains. Lunar eclipses are predictable...of course...and have been since Stonehenge.

Hi. I think I read that there would be an annular eclipse in 2017.
