Best method: Marry a responsible boyfriend. Problem is, those are often the quiet boring types. Excitement is ever so much more fun.

Next best method: Let him see the consequences of his action and inaction, as well as the benefits of doing things right. It will take time, but eventually he might learn.

Most likely case: You can't. Until he starts to realize that he has responsibilities to fill in the world, an accepts them, he won't mature. It's up to him, not you. You can decide to wait or not.

Have you heard the saying: Men never grow up? You neglected to say just how old you 2 are. That could make a big difference.
If he's a very young husband and father, it may take him along time! So, why not try seeking family counciling? If he's serious about things at home, he may take heed to what is being taught.

THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO NEVER TAKE ON RESPONSIBILITY REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE. YOU MIGHT HAVE MARRIED SUCH A PERSON.
MAYBE YOU COULD TRY GIVING HIM SMALL RESPONSIBILITIES AT FIRST, NOT PICKING UP THE PIECES IF HE FAILS, AND CONTINUE UNTIL MAYBE HE CAN HANDLE BIGGER ISSUES.
THEN ON THE OTHER HAND, MAYBE YOU HANDLE EVERYTHING SO WELL THAT HE SEES NO NEED TO PUT FORTH THE EFFORT.
KIND OF LIKE A CHILD THAT GETS HAND FED, IF SOMEONE DOES IT FOR YOU, WHY TRY YOURSELF.
GOOD LUCK

Give him a few more years to grow up?

Counselling?

Stop doing anything in the house and let it go to hell.....then he will notice and do something.

First, you can't change people. They have to want to change themselves before anything can happen.
If that doesn't work, try couples counselling. Good luck
